About

Paul Baird was born in San Francisco, California and moved with his parents to the East Coast at a very young age. One of four children, he grew up in Richmond, Virginia and initially had ideas of becoming a medical illustrator.

He studied Studio Art and Cognitive Psychology at the University of Virginia and went on to receive graduate degrees in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and later from Harvard University where he graduated with Distinction.

Paul has over twenty years of experience working on a wide variety of project types with architectural firms from Hariri and Hariri and Kohn Pedersen Fox in New York City to most recently Aidlin Darling Design in San Francisco. His work alone and with others has won many awards and has been widely published.

From its inception, the Studio's work has always focused on the intersection between site and program with the belief that innovative modern architecture is born out of the process of listening and inquiry.

Paul is a licensed Architect in the State of California.
